Our holiday in Cyprus was one filled with lots of sun, sea and laughter…for the most of it! We went with friend’s of ours and their family, and we all had a ball. Cyprus is somewhere I had never considered going but really enjoyed it and would recommend it if you enjoy an island style holiday.
We flew into Larnaca and had to drive through to Paphos (about a 2 hour trip), which is where we had hired a villa. But, we ventured into the mountains the one day to see the gorgeous monastery of Panagia tou Kykkou, also simply known as Kykkos Monastery. It was so worth the trip, to see how the landscape changed as we went away from the sea into the mountainous areas.
The highlights for me were
The food – it’s very similar to greek food and so yum
Swimming in the beautiful turquoise Mediterranean sea
The white wine was really good, I especially liked the Xynisteri varietal

Kathikas, Paphos. This was my favourite little town that we drove through, it was so quaint and beautiful. I fell in love with it immediately!
Stray kitten that we saw in the parking lot by Tombs of the Kings, Paphos. My heart was so sore when I saw it, but at least someone gives them food and water.
